Welcome to Socks for Neighbors!
Socks for Neighbors is a nonprofit dedicated to providing warmth, dignity, and care to those in need—one pair of socks at a time. Founded in Houston by Kimberly Vasquez, our mission is to support the less fortunate by supplying essential items often overlooked, especially for individuals experiencing homelessness.

Our History
Socks for Neighbors began as a simple idea—to provide warmth and comfort to those in need through one of the most overlooked essentials: socks. Founded in Houston by Kimberly Vasquez, our nonprofit quickly grew into a community-driven movement. Today, we are proud to have more than 50 dedicated members and a growing network of supporters committed to making a difference. To maximize our impact, we have established chapters in Memorial-area schools, allowing students to take an active role in service and outreach. As we continue to expand, our mission remains the same: to bring dignity, care, and kindness to every neighbor in need.
Our Staff
Socks for Neighbors is proudly led by high school students who are passionate about making a difference. As a youth-run nonprofit, our dedicated members take charge of organizing fundraisers, donation drives, and outreach events to support those in need. Every initiative is planned and executed by our team of high school students, proving that young people have the power to create real change. Through leadership, teamwork, and compassion, we are building a movement that not only provides essential items but also inspires the next generation of changemakers.

Together, we are building a network of compassion and action, ensuring that no neighbor is forgotten. We are always looking to grow our partnerships and extend our reach—because change happens when communities come together.
Socks for Neighbors 's programs
Soles for Souls - Step up, give back!
The Soles for Souls program is a fun and impactful way to get involved with Socks for Neighbors. Participants compete in a five-week fundraising challenge, working together to raise funds for essential items for those in need. To join, simply sign up by filling out the Google form and joining our GroupMe to stay connected with the team. The program runs twice a year—once in the spring and once in the fall—and includes exciting opportunities to earn community service hours, receive graduation cords, and participate in a final fundraising celebration. Join us to make a difference and be part of something bigger!
