Who We Are

Our History

Socks for Neighbors was founded in 2024 by Kimberly Vasquez who recognized the need for a local organization dedicated to helping homeless individuals get Socks and other essentials that might be forgotten. Since, Socks for Neighbors is working hard to grown into a thriving nonprofit, hoping to serve hundreds of individuals each year.

Our Staff

Our team is made up of dedicated people who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of those we serve. The president and founder is Kimberly Vasquez. The treasurer is Graciela Polio, and the secretary is Alexia Polio.

Our Partners

We are looking to partner with a variety of local organizations to provide the best possible support to our non-profit. From food banks to healthcare providers, we hope our partners help us extend our reach and impact in the community.

While socks are often overlooked, they play a crucial role in comfort and hygiene for those in need. However, our mission extends beyond immediate relief. Our larger goal is to empower homeless individuals to get back on their feet by providing them with the resources and support necessary for sustainable change. By addressing immediate needs like socks and hygiene products, we aim to build trust with the homeless community, paving the way for deeper engagement and assistance in accessing shelter, healthcare, job training, and other critical services. Through these efforts, Socks for Neighbors strives to make a lasting impact by helping homeless individuals regain stability and independence in their lives.

You can donate to Socks for Neighbors  by clicking on the 'Donate' button on our website, by sending a check to our mailing address, or through our "go fund me" which can also be found in our website. all donations even as small as a dollar is s contributing to our cause 

Socks for Neighbors does not currently offer any programs at the moment.

Socks for neigbors has a plan that will hopefully help this organization reach its full potential such as Establish partnerships with local shelters, community centers, and outreach programs to identify needs and distribute donations effectively. Create a sustainable distribution system to ensure regular supply of socks and essentials to those in need. Develop guidelines and criteria for selecting beneficiaries to ensure equitable distribution.We also will host fundraising events like Sock Runs Organize charity runs or walks where participants donate socks or a registration fee that goes towards purchasing socks and essentials.Crowdfunding Campaigns Launch online crowdfunding campaigns through platforms like GoFundMe, Kickstarter, or social media to reach a broader audience.and Corporate SponsorshipsPartner with local businesses and corporations for sponsorships, donations, or employee engagement activities (e.g., workplace giving programs, corporate volunteer days). This organizations is well aware that they cant do it on their own and hope Recruit volunteers through community outreach, social media, and local events to assist with sorting donations, packing care packages, and participating in outreach activities.Provide volunteer training on interacting sensitively with homeless individuals and maintaining confidentiality.
